Can I bring my family to Australia on a student visa?

In Australia, It is an Immigration policy that while the international students are attending school, their school-age dependents can attend school too. However the  student himself is responsible for arranging the education facilities  for the school-age dependent.

Almost all the student visas allow a student to bring their family members to Australia as dependents. 

Usually family members as the dependents would include your spouse and children. You will have to give proof of your ability to support your dependents financially, before bringing them to Australia, since the average  cost of living is high and supporting your family financially can be challenging. There will be many ongoing new expenses to take care of while you are studying in Australia. It is best to have a candid discussion with your family beforehand.

An international student would need approximately AU$20,000-30,000 per year for living expenses. These expenses are in addition to the university  tuition fees and would usually include costs like, food, books, accommodation, commutation and certain other things a student will need while staying abroad . It is a given that Living expenses will differ based on  your lifestyle and other circumstances, which will include the kind of accommodation you choose, the locality you live in and the number of people you are willing to share your accommodation with.
