How is the GMAT exam adaptive in nature?

The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is unique and challenging but since it’s skill-based, candidates can learn the skills with adequate practice. Yet, there are important tips that could help out students to score better. So, here are some tips that candidates should remember if they want to perform better in the GMAT exams.  

• Since GMAT is an adaptive type of exam, not every candidate will have the same types of questions while attempting the test.
• Candidates must try to answer all the questions and confirm their choice before they move on to the next question. Candidates cannot go back to the previous questions to change answers. So, it’s important to be precise and trust their responses.
• The scoring in GMAT is not based only on the number of questions that a candidate gets right or wrong. The GMAT test adapts to the test taker’s ability as well as the manner in which they select each question accordingly.
• The more questions a candidate answers correctly, the higher the difficulty level of the questions that follow. The marking of answers is done according to the difficulty level of the questions answered by the candidates. Similarly, if you answer a question incorrectly, you can expect the next question to be of a lower difficulty level. Hence, the total GMAT score of a candidate represents an extremely precise measure of a candidate’s ability. It is far more efficient than a pen-paper test, on which everyone answers the same questions.
