When to take CMAP+? For sure, the earlier the better! But as a student, whatever your age, from 9th grade onwards, now is a good time to take the CMAP+ psychometric assessment.

One test, many uses

All your career-based decisions for the next few years should be based around your CMAP+ report. Here’s how it works:

9th or 10th Grade: Stream Choice

Your first big decision: what Stream to choose. Your CMAP+ report will identify your cognitive ability and strongest Career Interests (based on John Hollands model), and those that least interest you. Take it now! Based on the answer, we will use our unique “Ready Reckoner” tool to show you the best Stream choice.

11th Grade: Career Choice

If you have already taken CMAP+ earlier, now you can use the entire report, especially the Career Options section. If not, take it now! 

Unlike many other reports, the CMAP+ report is not prescriptive. It does not make choices or decisions for you. It simply provides you with a structure within which to take control of your career planning, so that you can make an informed decision.

Based on your aptitude, using three sets of results: Career Interests, preferred Workstyle, and Cognitive Ability, the Report will filter out, from a completely up-to-date database, around 50 options that best match your profile. We will then guide you to do your own research on your shortlisted options to narrow it down the one which is best for you. Research is critical; in business it’s called ‘due diligence’. We know that students who choose a career that aligns with their personalities and cognitive ability are more likely to be happy and successful; CMAP+ allows you to find the best answer.

12th Grade: Course choice, Country Choice, University/College Choice and Applications

If you have already taken CMAP+ earlier, now you can use the entire report, as well as your research, to identify the right Course, Country and University/College for you. If not, take CMAP+ now!

As well as assessment scores and Career Options, your CMAP+ report also contains descriptive texts which describe your personality and aptitude. These descriptions can be extremely useful to help write your applications to University/College where an essay style “Statement of Purpose’ (SOP) is required.

University/Employment Selection Interviews

If you have already taken CMAP+ earlier, now you can use the paragraphs which describe you in more detail. If not, best you take CMAP+ now!

As well as assessment scores and Career Options, your CMAP+ report also contains descriptive texts which describe your personality and aptitude. These descriptions can be extremely useful to help prepare your answer to typical Interview questions. For example, one question is “How would you describe your personality?” Many students would be stumped by this. But using your CMAP+ report, you can prepare a strong and confident answer.

Post Grad/MBA choice/Working Professional

If you have already taken CMAP+ earlier, now you can use the entire report to further develop your career journey. If not, take CMAP+ now!

Your CMAP+ report will help you identify what really motivates you so you can select a PG/ MBA which aligns with your personality, cognitive ability, and work style. 

Career Course-correction

Often students do not get a chance to develop self-awareness through the use of valid assessments earlier in their education, resulting in many students finding that, after graduation and in early employment, their career doesn’t seem to be on the right track.
