The Australian education system is made up of Primary school,  Secondary school  and Senior Secondary School. The tertiary education in Australia comprises higher education, which includes universities, as well as vocational education and training . English is the main language in Australia and the main medium of instruction in the Australian education system.

There are 41 universities in the Australian education system, 37 of which are public and  funded by the Commonwealth Government. 

The  international students are selected by the universities, even though the  admissions into Australian universities is a centralized process, in each of Australia’s states and territories,

It is very common for domestic students in Australia to receive frequent scholarships and financial aid from the Commonwealth, however the international students are not eligible for these scholarships/aids. Usually most of the students in Australia pay full tuition fees, while in some cases they may receive support from a home university or a sponsor.

Australia is the world's most expensive destination for international students due to its high fees and high cost of living. International students spend more than $50,000 a year on an average to study at the Australian universities. Followed by the US with an average yearly cost of $45,000 (US$35,700) a year, and then the UK at $40,000 (£19,600). About a third of the total international students in the world, study in these 3 countries.

As per the Australia education system, the Australian schools are based on important abilities one must have in his life which are Literacy, Numeracy, Information and communication technology, creative thinking, personal and social capability, ethical understanding, intercultural understanding. These abilities are inculcated in the school students at a very early stage to support them in the life ahead.
