What is the eligibility criteria for international students to get into Australian Institutions?

Australia is a choice for students wanting to study abroad for higher education, after  the UK and US . It has world class infrastructure, a high standard of life and relatively lower expenses. Australian universities are well known for its number of international students due to international repute and excellent student support services. Australia is also a  multicultural country and yet the complete English language speaking environment makes it a great experience for the international students. Students passing out of Australian universities get higher attention from the employers in Australia as well as around the world.

Eligibility Criteria for applying to Australian universities:

For undergraduate courses - minimum 12 years of primary plus secondary education in Australia along with a  Australia Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or an equivalent certificate from their home country.

For  postgraduate courses -bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years  from Australia or abroad. In some cases, postgraduate courses require students to have a 4 years bachelor’s degree. Some courses also require some years of work experience. 

After applying to the shortlisted universities and getting done with all the formalities, students need to wait. It can take a few weeks for the university to assess your application and notify you of the results. Usually postgraduate applications take longer to get processed. So all that while, the student can start looking for information on visa requirements. The student also needs to plan his medical insurance cover, accommodation, plane tickets, tuition fees arrangements and much more to support themselves in Australia.
